Probationer Tracking
Tracking & verifying court-ordered
community service hours
Tracking and verifying court-ordered community service hours is often a very time-consuming and inefficient. But, it doesn’t have to be. Replace your paper-based work-flows with our secure, cloud-based, automated service.
Paper sign-in sheets are prone to error.
Errors can occur in the completion of the data, and errors can occur in the transcription of the data into the computer. Forms can get lost, or can be returned in a condition which is impossible to read.
Further complicating the task is that in most jurisdictions there are a large number of service organizations authorized to accept probationers for work, and each organization may have a number of individuals authorized to check-in and check-out probationers when they show up for work. As a result, the transmittal of logging data can be inconsistent and unreliable.
The courts require clear records to verify that someone sentenced to complete a certain number of community service hours has in fact completed his or her obligation. When records of time served are based on paper sign-in sheets, it is tedious and error prone to provide adequate reporting to the judiciary.
InstantLog Key Features:
Based on simple, secure Photo IDs
The InstantLog system provides an efficient, highly secure method of logging service hours in this context. The flexibility allows it to rapidly replace paper sign-in sheets with secure online logging via a mobile app. Probationers are issued a fraud-resistant ID card with a QR code and their photo. Then, a simple scan of the QR code by an authorized service organization registers their hours worked in real-time.
Logging from any mobile device
Not only can the InstantLog system be used to track hours worked, it can also ensure that the probationer is keeping up with his/her responsibility to check in with their probation officer according to the schedule required. When the probation officer uses the InstantLog app to record a visit, a trace is automatically created of the incident, allowing the courts to verify that visits are happening as required. If a deviation is identified, corrective actions can be taken before an insurmountable problem arises.
Simple reporting by Email or online
Visibility into the online database of log records allows probation officers, and court clerks, to drill down and analyze logging data so as to enable better services and to remove any opportunity for mistakes to be made. Tools to mine this data can provide insights into best practices, and where there is room for improvement.
The ease of use of the mobile app will also allow a larger number of organizations to participate in these programs. Some organizations don’t have the staffing or ability to handle the paperwork of traditional logging methods. However, using the InstantLog system they can track attendance data while devoting very few resources to the accounting and data management aspects.
